ROISIN & RAELA is a proof of concept short film that was short listed by Slick Film Funding (2024 & 2025) and Long Format Short Film Fund Competition (2025). It's directed by Gemma Reynolds, produced by Bells Kennedy-Compston, assistant-produced by Shannon Darby-Jones, shot by cinematographer Arushi Chugh, edited by Catarina Oliveira, and with sound design by Gerardo Pastor. Our Team

Gemma was a BFI Network South West's New Voices participants (2023), and her first micro-short, Queer Enough, screened at the BAFTA Qualifying IRIS Prize Film Fest & WFTV Festival in Cardiff.

Gemma’s work in all fields centres around intimate, naturalistic, and nuanced character and relationship based stories with deep meaning and a lightness of tone.

Savannah is a German-South African actress, writer, and voice actor, from Hong Kong.

She was a South West BFI Networks Queer Storytelling Cohort participant (2023), and her past award winning work, as a writer and actor (S#*! Talk; Together, Queer Enough), has screened at the BAFTA Qualifying Iris Prize Festival, WFTV Festival in Cardiff, BIFA Qualifying Encounters Festival, and various other international festivals.

Bells Kennedy-Compston is a Producer and production coordinator whose credits include: Boiling Point (BBC), Vogue UK, Aydan & Evan (dir. Elizabeth Cassidy), Sasha, Rubinstein’s and the upcoming Choked (dir. Travis Alabanza).

They are represented by Trans on Screen.

Arushi Chugh is an award winning cinematographer from India, based in London.

An NFTS alumni, Arushi has worked on productions that won prizes like the BAFTA for Best Animated Short, Best Student Award at Hollyshorts Festival, nominated for a Royal Television Society Award, shortlisted for Best British Film at Iris Prize and broadcast on Film4.

She has worked on a FOX Star Studios feature, released on Disney+ and Hulu in 2023, and projects commissioned by the BFI Network, BBC, and more.

Nenda is an actor, musician & filmmaker from the Austrian Alps. Known for the leading roles in Sky’s supernatural thriller The Rising and a recurring role in period drama Belgravia: The Next Chapter.

They recently made a comedy-documentary-short for BBC Reel, discussing identity & the difficulties you face as a mixed race Austrian. Nenda's debut single Mixed Feelings topped Austria's FM4 annual charts2021 & their music videos have won awards. She recently released and is currently touring her debut album KRRRA.

A Film and TV editor with over 15 years of experience across natural history, factual, documentary, drama, and short form.

Her credits include A Real Bug’s Life (Nat Geo/Disney+), Blue Planet II (BBC), Springwatch (BBC), Rescued Chimpanzees of the Congo with Jane Goodall (Amazon/CuriosityStream), and Tiger Island (BBC/PBS). She has edited over 200 short films, spanning digital series, music videos, and scripted shorts she also helped produce, including the award-winning thriller 'The Score' and horror 'Out at Night'.
